Privacy Notice

Last updated: October 28, 2026

This notice explains what theswampers.com — the official website of The Swampers, with the Trading Post shop, support, news and accounts — collects, why, who it's shared with, and the choices you have. It's run by Copper Run Records LLC, a Tennessee limited liability company ("we", "us").

This site is separate from driftwoodbayou.com, the Swampers' world with games and stories for the whole family. That site has its own privacy notice, has no shop, accounts or forms, and collects no information from visitors. Nothing passes between the two sites: our link to it carries no tracking information, and it doesn't link back here.

1. This site is for adults

Anyone can read this site, but everything that collects information is for adults: placing an order or contributing asks for your birth year and for you to confirm you're 18 or older, and creating an account and sending a partnership inquiry both require you to confirm you're 18 or older. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us at support@theswampers.com and we'll delete it.

2. Visiting the site

  • No advertising or analytics cookies, pixels or trackers. We don't use Google Analytics, advertising networks or social media pixels.
  • Counting visits. We count page views ourselves, anonymously. For each page you view we record the page, the date and time, the name of the site that linked you here (on the first page of a visit), any campaign tag in the link, the country and US state your connection comes from, and whether you're on a phone, tablet or computer and which browser. We don't use a cookie or any ID for this and don't store your IP address, so we can't tell who you are or link one visit to another. Your browser keeps a flag for the open tab so a visit isn't counted twice; it's gone when you close the tab. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, nothing is counted. These counts are kept for 13 months.
  • Search results. Google Search Console gives us totals of how the site appears in Google's search results (the searches it showed up for, how often, and how often it was clicked). That comes from Google, not from your visit to our site.
  • Where you came from. If you arrive through a link that names its source (for example from our Instagram), that tag is kept in your browser for the visit only. It's sent to us only if you create an account or make a contribution, and then it's saved with that record so we know which channels bring supporters.
  • Your cart. What's in your cart is kept in your own browser (local storage) so it survives a reload. It isn't sent to us until you check out, and it's cleared once your order is placed.
  • The Demo Desk. Which demo tapes you've played and where you left its dials are kept in your own browser (local storage). Nothing about it is sent to us.
  • Sign-in cookies. If you sign in, we use cookies that keep you signed in. They're necessary for your account to work and aren't used for anything else.
  • Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site running and secure.

3. Videos and music on the site

The “Out now” player on our homepage is Spotify's, and it loads with the page. That means Spotify receives your visit to it (as any embedded player does: your IP address and browser details) and may set its own cookies, under Spotify's privacy policy.

Other videos and songs load only when you choose to play them: the videos on the band-room TV and in news posts come from YouTube (in its privacy-enhanced mode), and songs on our link-in-bio page from Spotify or Apple Music. Once you press play, that service's own privacy policy applies to what you watch or listen to.

4. Accounts

Creating a free account is optional. If you create one, we keep:

  • your email address, and when you confirmed you're 18 or older and accepted our Terms;
  • which update emails you chose, and a record of each change (what you chose, when, and the wording you saw);
  • where you came from, if your link had a source tag (see section 2).

There's no password. We email you a one-time sign-in link. Your account also shows contributions and shop orders made with the same email address.

You can also ask for an account when you place an order or contribute, by ticking the box before you pay. We then create an unconfirmed account for the email address you give at checkout and send one email with a link to finish setting it up. No update emails are switched on. If you never click the link, the account is deleted after 30 days.

5. Contributions

Before you contribute we ask for the year you were born, in the same way and with the same limits as the shop age check in section 6. Nothing about it is stored.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe in a secure form on our page; we never see or store them. From Stripe we receive and keep your name, email address, the amount, whether it's one-time or monthly, the dates, and Stripe's reference numbers. We use this to record your support, show it in your account, handle refunds and cancellations, and meet tax and accounting obligations. Stripe's use of your information is covered by Stripe's privacy policy.

6. Shop orders

The age check. Before checkout we ask for the year you were born (and your birthday, only if that year makes you 17 or 18). It's used only to work out that you're 18 or older and is never stored or sent to anyone. If the answer shows someone under 18, a cookie containing nothing but "blocked" closes checkout in that browser for a day.

Paying. You pay in Stripe's secure payment form, shown on our checkout page. Your card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store them. Stripe also collects your email address and shipping address in that form and calculates any sales tax. From Stripe we receive and keep your name, email address, shipping name and address, what you bought, what you paid (items, shipping, tax and any discount) and Stripe's reference numbers, along with the fact that you confirmed you're 18 or older and agreed to our terms.

Printing and delivery. Orders are printed and shipped by Printful, which receives the recipient's name, shipping address and email address, and the items, in order to make and deliver them and send shipping updates. Printful's use of that information is covered by its privacy policy.

Receipts and shipping updates. Your payment receipt is emailed by Stripe on behalf of Copper Run Records, and the charge shows on your statement as COPPER RUN* SWAMPERS. Shipping and tracking emails come from Printful or the carrier.

We use order information to make and deliver your order, answer questions about it, handle returns and refunds, show it in your account if you have one, and keep the business's accounts.

7. Emails

  • Account emails (sign-in links, account and payment notices) are sent through Resend. They aren't marketing and aren't affected by your email choices.
  • Update emails go only to people who ticked a topic. If you do, we share your email address and chosen topics with Omnisend, which sends them. Every update email has an unsubscribe link, and you can change your choices anytime in your account. Unsubscribing by the link also updates your account within a day.

8. Partnership inquiries

If you send a partnership inquiry, we keep what you entered (company, name, email, optional phone, website and budget, and your message) to reply and to manage any partnership that follows. Inquiries are never added to a mailing list.

9. Who we share information with

We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We use these service providers to run the site:

ProviderWhat for
SupabaseDatabase, sign-in and file storage
VercelWebsite hosting
StripePayments, receipts and managing monthly support
PrintfulPrinting and shipping shop orders
ResendAccount emails
OmnisendUpdate emails, only if you opt in

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.

10. How long we keep it

  • Your account and email choices: until you delete your account.
  • The record of your email choices (your email address, each opt-in or opt-out, when, and the wording you saw): kept after you delete your account, as proof of what you agreed to, for 4 years after the last change.
  • Records of contributions: as long as tax and accounting law requires (7 years), even if you delete your account.
  • Shop orders: the buyer's name, email, shipping details and any notes stay on the site for 12 months. After that the full order record moves to the business's own offline accounting records (kept as long as tax law requires) and those details are removed from the site's database; what remains on the site (what was sold, when, for how much, and the state it shipped to) is kept for sales reports.
  • Partnership inquiries: 3 years after the last contact.
  • Unconfirmed sign-ups (the link was never clicked): deleted after 30 days.

11. Your choices and rights

  • Change or stop update emails in Email preferences, or with the unsubscribe link in any update email.
  • Download a copy of your information from Account settings. Shipping addresses aren't in the download; ask us and we'll send them.
  • Delete your account from Account settings. Payment records and the record of your email choices are kept as described above.
  • For anything else — corrections, questions, or requests under your state's privacy law — contact us at support@theswampers.com. We may need to confirm your identity first.

12. Security

We use encrypted connections, keep card data with Stripe rather than on our systems, and require staff to use two-factor sign-in. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

13. Changes

If we change this notice, we'll update the date above. If a change is significant, we'll tell account holders by email.
